Kaitlyn is a board-certified sports dietitian specializing in eating disorders and Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDS). Kaitlyn is also a licensed graduate social worker and is passionate about student-athlete mental health.
-
Are you dealing with recurring stress fractures, irregular periods, iron deficiency, or ongoing fatigue? You're not alone. These symptoms might indicate Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (REDS), affecting performance and health but often unnoticed. First identified in 2014, REDS occurs when your energy intake doesn't meet output, leading to low energy availability. It can affect menstrual cycles, bone health, and harm the cardiovascular, metabolic, psychological, and immune systems. For athletes, this means a higher risk of injury, reduced endurance, slower recovery, and stagnant performance. Join Kaitlyn, a sports dietitian and social worker, as she simplifies this vital topic. With her strong connection to sports and mental health, Kaitlyn provides practical advice on identifying REDS and achieving energy balance. Athletes and coaches will gain insights into optimizing health and performance while adopting a sustainable training and nutrition approach.
